Oklahoma Football Announces Schedule News
Hi, hello!
College football is just around the corner, which means a few things for the Oklahoma Sooners and the sport in general. Regular season schedule announcements are being made, including key kickoff times for marquee matchups.
EA College Football 26 is also nearing a release, which means promotional videos — which includes the Sooners — are being revealed.
Here’s what’s in the news for the Sooners and world of college football as of late:

OU football announces key kickoff times
Kickoff times are quite important for college football fans. They directly impact how consumers plan their viewing schedule.
There is also tradition tied to kickoff times. For example, Oklahoma announced a 2:30 p.m. local time kickoff for Red River Rivalry against Texas — which fans weren’t thrilled with.
Many fans prefer an 11:00 a.m. kickoff for the historical matchup.
There was one good bit of news with the announcement of four kickoff times, though. Oklahoma and Michigan — two prominent programs — will get a primetime game, which starts at 6:30 p.m. local time.
OU softball does the inevitable
Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning in the opening round of the Women’s College World Series, with the bottom of the lineup set to hit. Most teams would fold in that situation and prepare for the loser’s bracket.
Patty Gasso’s Sooners aren’t most teams.
Going for a fifth-straight National Championship win isn’t chaotic enough. Oklahoma needed an Ella Parker three-run home run to keep the theatrics alive and walk it off against Tennessee.
With a 4-3 victory, Oklahoma advances through the winners bracket throughout the weekend, aiming to make the championship series once again.
Sooners in College Football 26
With EA College Football 26 being the second edition of the college football video game since it’s decade-long hiatus, many fans are eager to get their hands on a copy, aiming to see the core differences.
In a promotional trailer, EA used the schooner in Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to showcase a game starting in the Sooners’ stadium, and what the digital atmosphere will be like.

For Oklahoma fans eager to see the new-look team — led by quarterback John Mateer — in action, they can take control and use the Sooners in the video game on July 10, 2025. Oh, and Brent Venables will make his video game debut, as head coaches have been scanned into the game this year.
That’ll do it for the first full edition of Sooner Lounge. We’ll continue to bring weekly coverage and content regarding the Sooners throughout the football offseason — with more and more content coming in each release.
